Still in radiation, back on the basketball court.
Edna Campbell is a former professional basketball player in the WNBA. In 2002, while playing overseas in Italy, she was hit in the breast and discovered a lump, which led to her diagnosis of breast cancer. After returning home for surgery and treatment, she faced this life-changing experience with tremendous courage, faith, and the support of family, friends, and Sacramento Monarch teammates and fans.
She underwent treatment through the 2002 WNBA season and was sidelined until the final game of the year. For that game, while still undergoing radiation, Edna walked back onto the court with strength and an unbreakable spirit. Her return is remembered as one of the WNBA's top 15 moments in league history.
Back on the court, Edna realized she had stopped taking full breaths a long time ago because of the pain. Rebuilding her breath became the foundation of her recovery. "Surviving gives me the feeling of just holding on. Recovery means you have moved past just holding on and you are putting the pieces together for your health and wellness." Breathe and Stretch is the path she built from that rebuilding, and the one she walks with you.
